HYPNOSIS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What is hypnosis?

A: Most people are surprised to find out that hypnosis is a guided experience of an altered state of mind to other states of consciousness -- states of consciousness that we all have in our ordinary everyday lives. Clinical studies have shown that people can achieve greater awareness of their environment during hypnosis.

Hypnosis is an extremely efficient state of mind. In fact, artists, performers, and athletes refer to that state as “Being In The Zone.” Hypnosis, then, is getting into that state of mind on purpose and using it for some pre-selected reason.

Q: How does hypnosis work?

A: Hypnosis works easily, safely, and effectively. People often think of hypnosis as “going under” or “going to sleep.” Both are misleading. During a session with a Professional Hypnotist you are fully aware of your environment. You are awake, for all practical purposes, and can ignore any suggestion that might be objectionable.

Q: Can I be made to do something against my will?

A: No. You will not do anything that is against your own morals or self preservation. Also, our professionalism and strict code of ethics means that you need not worry.

Q: What does it feel like to be hypnotized?

A: Hypnosis is a very natural way of experiencing the world. You will be fully awake and fully conscious, but in a special focused and deeply relaxed state – in the zone. Really, there is no specific hypnotized feeling…everybody is different.

Most experience hypnosis in a very relaxed, lethargic and a pleasant state of mind. Many people are surprised at how “normal and natural” hypnosis feels. For some of my clients, it’s the most relaxed they have felt for years.

Q: Will I be asleep?

A: No. You will not be asleep, contrary to popular belief. Actually, you will be aware of what I am saying and will find it very relaxing. Hypnosis is a heightened state of awareness. So, the hypnotized individual is always aware of what is occurring.

Q: Can anyone be hypnotized?

A: Yes, although certain people respond better to hypnotic suggestion. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, so anyone who has the desire and is willing to follow a few simple instructions CAN ACHIEVE a hypnotic state.

Q: Is Hypnosis dangerous?

A: The only time hypnosis could be dangerous is if you are driving or operating machinery; and you should not listen to a hypnotic tape under those circumstances. There has not been one documented case of hypnosis doing harm to a person. You’re in control at every moment and you can stop at any time. Hypnosis is a very relaxing, safe and natural state of mind.

Q: What if I don't go very deep?

A: Perception of depth during a session has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the therapy and your level of success with results. A willingness to break with the unwanted patterns of all your mental programming – past thoughts, actions, experiences, and learning – are your keys to success. Each person is an individual, and as such can go to indivdually different levels of hypnosis. A deep state is not always necessary for hyposis. A light state is almost always sufficient to proceed.

Q: Can I get "stuck" in Hypnosis?

A: You can't get stuck. Even if you fall asleep (it happens) your natural clock will wake you eventually.

Q: Will I remember what happened during the session?

A: Yes

Q: Can I be controlled?

A: Absolutely not. In any hypnotic situation you are always in complete control. Your subconscious mind will not accept suggestions in conflict with your desires, principles, or beliefs.

Q: Will I tell all my secrets?

A: No. You can lie during a session. Hypnosis is not a truth serum, nor does it cause an impulse to "tell all.” In most sessions there is no need for the subject to talk, but rather relax and listen to the suggestions.

Since 1992, according to New Scientist and Journal of Applied Psychology, it has been known that "Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking."

Still need some convincing? Not sure if hypnosis as effective as your neighbor says? We don’t blame you. Don’t just take our word for it, there are thousands of pages of clinical support published by some of the most prestigious hospitals and universities in the world that all say the same thing: Hypnosis really works.

Feel free to browse through the clinical studies, although many of them will be summed up by the following statistic:

How Well Does Hypnosis work? A Comparison Study:

“Psychoanalysis: 38% recovery after 600 sessions
Behavior Therapy: 72% recovery after 22 sessions
Hypnosis 93% recovery after 6 sessions”

Hypnosis makes it easy! All you have to do is make an appointment. From the moment of your first session your life is going to change!
